A Moment for Carers: Listen to this self-help meditation CD
Until something is done to alter the way we value our carers, the situation will never change! Carers will continue to be taken for granted, pressurised by their own emotional feelings, exhausted, frustrated with bureaucracy and the benefits system, and stretched to breaking point. Any carer will tell you that caring for a loved one can be a stressful experience. But, it also has its rewards.

Who cares for carers? Feeling ignored and invisible?
There are over 5 million carers in Britain today (3.3 million women and 2.4 million men). One in eight adults provides informal care to a loved one and one in six households (17%) contains a carer.
Of these 5+ million carers, 1.7 million (or 30%) spend at least 20 hours per week in their caring role, and around 2 million spend at least 50 hours per week on the same activity. At this point, caring is like having a full-time job with compulsory overtime, but without the pay.
Coping with the illness of a loved one can be tough, and the pressure on carers can often lead to physical and emotional problems, like stress related illness, including depression, anxiety, exhaustion, sleep deprivation, and financial worries.
Sometimes the pressure and strain is so extreme, a carer can suffer a breakdown, while others have even attempted suicide.
Phil, how can your CD help me? I've tried everything!
No....not yet. You haven't tried everything. Otherwise you would have found the answer and would have stopped looking. The fact that you landed here means you are still searching.
Essentially, the problem may boil down to: Not enough resources. Not enough time. Not enough support. Not enough energy.
Rarely does it amount to: Not enough love, not enough hope, or not enough caring. You already have those in abundance. But the shine can be rubbed off through attrition, harassment and pressure. Let's look at this logically.
Not enough resources: To stand your ground and go through the system, takes stamina and courage. Why? Because the success of social service arrangements for carers depends on co-operation and joint working with other agencies - particularly the health service. Tensions between health and social services staff can, and often does, inhibit effective co-working. This takes endeavour and ENERGY!
Not enough time: Things take longer when you're tired and drained, sleep deprived and exasperated. You can't concentrate, things get muddled, you make mistakes and cleaning up the mess takes longer. All of these need ENERGY!
Not enough support: So often, even if there are other family members who could help, they don't, and 'the buck stops here!' so to speak. Your financial situation may not be up to much and this can impact on the quality of care you can physically provide. So if you're doing it alone, either by choice or lack of help from others, you need ENERGY!
Not enough energy: You feel tired all the time, you can't sleep, the tablets the doctor gave you make you drowsy. You need to recharge your batteries. In short, you need ENERGY!
I think we've established, you need energy to do all of these things, but that's the one thing you're short on. So where do you get this extra energy?
How the energy recovery system works: The CD will actively help you manage your energy through a simple relaxation technique. It will help you encourage and develop and maintain your energy at a high level. It will help you manage your thought processes and find an anchor, that uses the 'Law of Attraction' in your life to bring these things to you in abundance. Listen to the CD, follow along, and imagine being rested, joyful, energetic and happy. Do your best to constantly raise your own vibration, your 'buzz', and therefore, your energy levels. This will help you deal with the unexpected, and still have plenty in reserve.
Here's what you can do: You sit in a chair, play the CD and follow the instructions. Then go back to your life and see what happens. That's it! I promise you, it's as simple as that!
I believe this CD could substantially increase the length of time you are able to care for your loved one at home and increase your sense of well-being and adjustment, significantly relieving your caregiver responsibilities, as well as improving your health and stamina.
On a personal note: I appreciate what it is that carers do because I watched my own mum take care of her mum, my nan, for 20 years, until she died in her 90's. As I grew up, I watched and waited as other relatives promised to do their share and help out; and we waited, and waited, and waited. You probably know the rest.
All the while mum was working, caring, cleaning and nursing, all at the same time, until my lovely nan passed away. I know my mum could have done with this CD to help her when she was at her lowest. But her caring time was many years before I produced it; which is a shame.
So believe me, I know what carers are going through, and I know how some days you can hardly get out of bed you're so tired, but you do it anyway. Because you know, if you don't, nobody else will. All that love that you shared for all those years is what keeps you going. This CD is for you, all for you because you deserve it.
It will help you relax, gather your thoughts, organize them and sort them. It will re-energize you like nothing else ever could. It will help you to stay fit and healthy for longer by showing you how to draw healing energy into your body through your attention and intention, giving you the strength to carry on, and will act as your point of focus when you are at your lowest ebb.
It is a sad fact that the majority of us will be called upon to provide care at some point in our lives. As much as we love the person, or persons, we are caring for, there are certain things that will occur at some point in the future. Stress and anxiety are two of the major emotions that will raise their ugly head. And, you will reason, I'm not supposed to feel this way. "For better or worse" was the promise, "in sickness and in health".
So you can start to feel guilty that you are being worn down by the situation you find yourself in. These emotions felt by carers, along with the exhaustion, are what create the uncertainty, heartache, depression, exhaustion and ill health mentioned earlier.
It doesn't have to be this way. It shouldn't be this way. You CAN do something about it!
The best strategy for every carer is to use your CD, EVERYDAY!
If you physically can't find the time some days, play it anyway. Even if you have it on quietly in the background whilst doing the housework, the subliminal nature of the gentle voice and the stress reducing directions, will register with your unconscious, and you will still gain the benefits.
When you feel stronger and can sleep well again, when you feel relaxed and realize the benefits of using this CD on a regular basis, you will once again take on your caring role with renewed vigour and enthusiasm. Thank you.
